  • How is intuitive eating different from a diet?
    Diets don't work! They provide short term frameworks that are not sustainable and leave you feeling out of control, insecure, frustrated and stressed. Intuitive eating will guide you back to your innate ability to listen to your bodily cues. You will learn to trust yourself to eat amounts that feel emotionally, physically and mentally pleasant. You will understand different types of hunger like taste vs. physical vs. practical and what that means. Ultimately you are regaining your innate power to live life for you and not the diet culture narrative.
  • What is diet culture?
    Diet culture is the societal expectation that a persons worth comes from the size of their body. It values thinness and appearance over health and well being.
  • Will I lose weight with intuitive eating?
    Intuitive eating is a weight neutral program. Clients understand that their body could gain weight, lose weight or stay the same. You will be taught health promoting behaviors like eating nutrient dense foods, reducing stress, getting adequate rest and finding joyful movement. Every individual has a different experience, but it is normal to begin the program and still desire weight loss, after all you're coming from a diet culture mindset!

    This is very common! It is my job to help support you with my knowledge and tools. I will be there to help you change how you think about your body and give you the tools to fight negative voices in your head that want to bring you down!
